Dr. Parrott graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA in 1990 with a BS in Biology. He spent seven years doing HIV vaccine research for the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine and the Institute of Human Virology before deciding to pursue a career in dentistry. He graduated magna cum laude from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery – University of Maryland Dental School in 2002. In 2005, he earned both a certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Dental School. In May 2005, he began working at an established orthodontic practice in central Virginia, primarily in their Waynesboro office. In May of 2006, he became the owner of and sole practitioner at that Waynesboro location and Parrott Orthodontics was created.
Dr. Parrott is originally from New Orleans and first lived in the Shenandoah Valley during his undergraduate years at W & L. Following a decade in the DC-Baltimore area, he and his wife, Amy, opted to return to the Valley as an ideal place to raise their family. Now residing in Augusta County, Dr Parrott, Amy, and their four children, Will, Sam, Jack, and Maggie, can be found on local soccer fields, at County school events, frequenting Willy’s ice cream, and fly fishing in the South River.
Now settled into his new, central office in the Fishersville/Staunton area, Dr. Parrott is better able to serve patients from Staunton, Waynesboro, Fishersville, and Stuarts Draft, as well as the surrounding counties of Rockingham, Rockbridge, Nelson, and Albemarle. With one doctor in one modern, central location, he is able to focus on individualized care for his patients. At your initial exam/consult visit, which has always been free of charge, Dr. Parrott will gather the appropriate records required for diagnosis of your orthodontic condition(s) and will listen to your individual concerns...be they aesthetic, functional, financial, or social...in effort to formulate the appropriate treatment plan and modality for each patient.
